Antwerp, March 8, 2016

ASL (including sister company JetNetherlands) is proud to announce that it has received approval from the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority to commercially operate the brand new Embraer E545 'Legacy 450'. ASL thereby becomes the first commercial operator of the new aircraft type in Europe. The approval has been issued only 2 months after the delivery of the aircraft.

The aircraft, which has already flown over 30 hours on behalf of its undisclosed owner since delivery, has exceeded all expectations in terms of performance, efficiency, reliability and comfort. The aircraft features the quietest, widest and tallest flat-floor cabin in its category (mid-size/mid-light). It also features the widest cabin windows and one of the lowest cabin altitudes of the market (maximum 6000 ft at max cruising altitude of 45000 ft) offering an unparalleled level of comfort to its passengers. Comfort, reliability and efficiency is also unequalled for the flight crew, who's provided with full digital fly-by-wire flight controls, flight envelope protection and the cutting-edge Rockwell Collins Proline Fusion integrated avionics system with standard synthetic vision, auto-brake and auto-throttle. The cabin also features additional amenities such as the Honeywell Ovation Select Cabin Management System, a microwave, a Nespresso machine and a fully enclosed vacuum-type toilet.

The Legacy 450 currently offers a maximum range of 2545 nautical miles (4713 km) at maximum altitude of 45000 ft and max cruise speed of Mach .83 which makes it the fastest aircraft in its class. Soon, the range of the aircraft will be increased to 2900 nm (5370 km), which will allow direct flights from Brussels (home base of the aircraft) to Quebec city, Doha, Lagos or Astana.

This is yet a very important milestone for the fast-growing ASL/JetNetherlands group which recently took delivery of a new Dassault Falcon 2000LXS and of an Embraer Legacy 650 (soon to be offered for charter services as well). ASL recently merged with the Dutch operator JetNetherlands to become one of the leading business aviation operators in the Benelux. The group also counts the Rotterdam-based Part-145 maintenance company RAS (Rijnmond Air Services).
